Louisiana Lou, wuts with the ad lib smack? You could have simply said "Everytime I hear Don McLean's American Pie I change the station", and simply by looking at your handle I would have understood why immediately, - - - - A long, long time ago... Don McLean's American Pie? You have to be kidding! I could not stand it when it came out and I don't like it any better now. In fact, as soon as it comes on, I change the station. I have had the pleasure of seeing Irma Thomas many times and she never disappoints. She is an awesome talent. Real music is what she sings, not that inane crap like American Pie.

Is the Louisiana Music Hall Of Fame anything like Carnegie Hall? Or is it more like the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame, or maybe it is known through out the world like the Grand Ole Opry is? Perhaps like Buck Owens and Porter Wagner's Hee-Haw? Or how about the Mormon Tabernacle Choir? Sounds more like it is sort of like the same old 4+ million minority value blowhard syndrome to me......... Any kind of cheap caberet billboard to draw the nickles from the folks who come to see the circus though will do I suppose..... Ehhh, everyone has to have something to aspire to I suppose.... Hey, instead of Carnegie Hall, you could call it the 'Carny' Alley!!!!!!

How Long will our Sun Last? - OR - "How many years will it take before the Sun explodes or disappears? Here is the short answer: Four to five billion years (4-5,000,000,000 years)……Here is an answer that is still short, but longer than the short answer and shorter than the long answer: Astrophysicists estimate that the Sun will begin to expand as it runs out of hydrogen fuel in its core. This will happen in about 4-5 billion years, when the Sun will change from a white dwarf to a red giant (SOHO). The Sun is already about 4.5 billion years old. When the Sun begins to expand, it is unlikely that Earth will be a nice place to live, if it exists at all…. The Long Answer: The Sun will not explode; it is too small to "go nova." It WILL expand as it fuses the last of its core hydrogen. The outer layers of gas will swallow some inner planets (possibly even the Earth). Then the inner parts of the Sun will stop fusing, contract, and become a white dwarf. It will remain a small, hot, slowly- cooling dwarf for many tens of billions of years after that. (It will have most of the heat of a full-sized star, but only a tiny surface area with which to radiate it. Therefore, it will take a very long time to cool down. This will not help us; it will be too cold to support life on Earth by then, even if the Earth could survive the red giant phase.) Scientists based this picture of the Sun's future on the basic nuclear reactions in a star's core. The rates of these reactions depend upon the mass of the star. (smaller stars burn more slowly, and thus longer, than more massive ones, but I could be oversimplifying things.) Scientists use planetary orbits and the laws of orbital dynamics to estimate the mass of the Sun. So, with the mass of the Sun and the rate at which this mass is consumed by fusion, we can guess that the Sun's lifetime will be 9 billion or 10 billion years, total. We know (from Earth's geology and Moon rocks, for example) that the age of the solar system is 4.5 or 4.6 billion years. We think the planets formed at roughly the same time as the Sun. Therefore, based on current scientific theory, the Sun will expand in four or five billion years." — Courtesy of SOHO (ESA & NASA) - - - - - Now consider that the sun was 'born' approximately 4.5 billion years ago, and it is supposed to do something like end or something or other like that in 4.5 billion years from now it is 'safe' to say we are currently at the mid-life point of our suns existence... Now, civiliaztion as we know it sort of started 10,000 + years ago... and it has been said that if the library in Alexandria, Egypt hadn't burned down way back when, that we would have been on the moon 300 years ago... Now considering what we were like 300 years ago, do you suppose, that maybe, with a little bit of heart, we can last another 300 years? And if we can go that far, well then, what's wrong with 10,000 more years or even longer? Like even several million years? It's up to us right now to figure out how to make this happen... God Bless America, God Bless the World....

Ehhhh, how about some "You Don't Know How It Feels" Lyrics by; Tom Petty - - Let me run with you tonight - I'll take you on a moonlight ride.... There's someone I used to see - But she don't give a damn for me... But let me get to the point, - let's roll another joint.. And turn - the radio loud, - I'm too alone - to be proud... You don't know how it feels - You don't know how it feels - to be me..... People come, - people go... Some grow young, - some grow old.... I woke up in between - A memory and a dream... So let's get - to the point, - let's roll - another joint... Let's head on down the road.... There's somewhere I gotta go.... And you don't know how it feels - You don't know how it feels to be me.... My old man was born to rock... He's still tryin' to beat the clock... Think of me what you will - I've got a little space to fill... So let's get to the point, -let's roll - another joint....... And let's head on down the road - There's somewhere - I got to go... And you don't know how it feels - You don't know how it feels - No, you don't know how it feels - to be me.... You don't know how it feels - You don't know how it feels - No, you don't know how it feels ................ to be me...............

Margarita Bergen, - - - - 'a' "Diva"?????? Hmmm, let me see... diva (English pronunciation: /ˈdiːvə/, Italian: [ˈdiːva]) is a celebrated female singer. The term is used to describe a woman of outstanding talent in the world of opera, and by extension in theatre, cinema and popular music. The meaning of diva is closely related to that of "prima donna".... The word entered the English language in the late 19th century. It is derived from the Italian noun diva, a female deity. The plural of the word in English is "divas"; in Italian, dive [ˈdiːve]. The basic sense of the term is "goddess",the feminine of the Latin word divus (Italian divo), a male deity.... The male divo does exist in Italian and it is usually reserved for the most prominent leading tenors, like Enrico Caruso or Beniamino Gigli. The Italian term divismo describes the Star system..... An extravagant admiration for divas is a common element of camp culture.... Oh, by the way...... Camp is an aesthetic sensibility wherein something is appealing because of its bad taste and ironic value. The concept is closely related to kitsch, and campy things are described as being "campy" or "cheesy". When the usage appeared, in 1909, it denoted: ostentatious, exaggerated, affected, theatrical, and effeminate behaviour, and, by the middle of the 1970s, the definition comprised: banality, artifice, mediocrity, and ostentation so extreme as to have perversely sophisticated appeal.[1] American writer Susan Sontag's essay “Notes on 'Camp'” (1964) emphasised its key elements as: artifice, frivolity, naïve middle-class pretentiousness, and ‘shocking’ excess. Camp as an aesthetic has been popular from the 1960s to the present, and arguably peaked in the decades of the 1970s, 1980s, and to some extent the 1990s as well.... Camp films were popularised by filmmakers George and Mike Kuchar, Andy Warhol, and John Waters, including the latter's Pink Flamingos, Hairspray and Polyester. Celebrities that are associated with camp personas include drag queens and performers such as Dame Edna, Divine (Glen Milstead), RuPaul, and Liberace. Camp was a part of the anti-academic defense of popular culture in the 1960s and gained popularity in the 1980s with the widespread adoption of postmodern views on art and culture. Yeah, call me stuck in my ways, but I think I do I prefer to experience things that are perhaps a little more universal, has a little more heart, perhaps a little more meaning, maybe isn't so bourgies, and is maybe even able to reach across a broader spectrum..... Wut ever.......

Or how about Barbara Tuchman? She sang "The Proud Tower" which chronicles the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. She covers not only the political but the social changes that were afoot in Europe and the US that gave birth to this tumultuous century of ours. She was also the author of "The Guns of August", a definitive history of WWI. Both are excellent references for anyone interested in the opening decades of the 20th century.

And singin', "this'll be the day that I die. - "this'll be the day that I die.".... Helter skelter in a summer swelter. - The birds flew off with a fallout shelter, - Eight miles high and falling fast....... It landed foul on the grass. - The players tried for a forward pass,With the jester on the sidelines in a cast......... Now the half-time air was sweet perfume - While the sergeants played a marching tune.... We all got up to dance, - Oh, but we never got the chance!.... `cause the players tried to take the field; - The marching band refused to yield. - Do you recall what was revealed - The day - the music died?... We started singing, - "bye-bye, miss american pie." - Drove my chevy to the levee, - But the levee was dry.... Them good old boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye - And singin', "this'll be the day that I die..... "this'll be the day that I die.".........Oh, and there we were - all in one place, - A generation - lost in space.. With no time left to start again.... So come on: jack be nimble, - jack be quick!- Jack flash sat on a candlestick 'Cause fire is the devil's only friend..... Oh, and as I watched him on the stage - My hands were clenched in fists of rage.... No angel born in hell - Could break that satan's spell..... And as the flames climbed high into the night - To light the sacrificial rite, - I saw satan laughing with delight - The day - the music died........ He was singing, - "bye-bye, miss american pie."... Drove my chevy to the levee, But the levee was dry.... Them good old boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye And singin', "this'll be the day that I die. - "this'll be the day that I die."......... I met a girl who sang the blues - And I asked her for some - happy news,... But she just smiled and turned away..... I went down to the sacred store - Where I'd heard the music - years before,... But the man there - said the music - wouldn't play.... And in the streets: - the children screamed, - The lovers cried, - and the poets dreamed... But not a word was spoken; - The church bells - all were broken.... And the three men I admire most: The father, son, and the holy ghost, - - - They caught the last train for the coast - - - The day - the music......... died. - And they were singing,... "bye-bye, miss american pie." - Drove my chevy to the levee, But the levee was dry. - And them good old boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye Singin', - "this'll be the day that I die. - "this'll be the day that I die.".....
