Future Speaker Fights Back
The Advocate has written about a political battle brewing between two highly-political individuals that might end up in a lawsuit.According to the Advocate, “Republican state Rep. Jim Tucker said Tuesday he wants Democratic Party chairman Chris Whittington to retract a statement in which he took Tucker to task for involvement in a housing tax credit program that was the subject of an ethics probe.”
Based upon the Advocate, the “state Ethics Board voted 9-2 in October to drop charges against Tucker involving allegations he improperly got housing tax credits through a hurricane recovery program.
In an e-mail to Democratic Party insiders, Whittington said Tucker “took the tax credits and then didn’t rebuild his apartment complexes.”
Tucker said the statement is “blatantly false,” is warning Whittington about a possible lawsuit unless certain conditions are met.Tucker has been supported by Bobby Jindal to be the incoming Speaker of the House after determining that a Tucker had a consensus of the votes from current and future House members
Well, dears, we are not suit happy. We think that too many lawsuits are filed over nothing. However, reputation of an important memeber of the legislature is something that must not be overlooked. If Mr. Tucker's reputation has been defamed, he has a responsibility to himself, his family, and his constitutents to sue the individual involved. The most important thing a person actually owns is his reputation. Don't set conditions, sue!!!!!! What do you have to lose? Only your reputation. Written by RhettWife
